Institutional Research provides information and analysis that supports the Justice Institute of British Columbia's (JIBC's) planning and decision-making, policy development, institutional accountability requirements, and overall strategic direction of the Institute.
The office assists in the maintenance of accurate and usable data for JIBC, and is responsible for the quality of data shared with the Ministry of Advanced Education and other external agencies through projects and activities such as the British Columbia Central Data Warehouse, BC Student Outcomes, and the Student Transitions Project.
The office has three interrelated areas of focus that support the mission and vision of JIBC as articulated in the Institute's Strategic Plan, the Academic Plan and in Strategic Enrolment Management.
The Office works with internal and external groups on research and data-sharing activities and projects that track student success at JIBC, through the BC educational system, and beyond. Institutional Research is responsible for meeting related provincial and federal reporting requirements, internal and external standard reports and also for responding to ad hoc requests for information. The Office also provides support for institutional survey research and planning support, as well as assistance with research and information needs for the entire JIBC community.
Enterprise reporting is supported through the provision of business intelligence analytics, enrolment management, academic planning and student success and engagement reporting and analysis. Institutional Research provides integrated support to institutional planning and accountability through a provision of accurate, timely and relevant data that promotes planning, action and measurable results. The Office provides support in institutional quality assurance activities including program and course evaluations, the quality assurance framework and Balanced Scorecards and Key Performance Indicators.

2014 Student Outcomes Report for JIBC Program Graduates
The summary results from the 2014 BC Student Outcomes Report for JIBC Certificate and Diploma Graduates are now available. This report provides a high-level summary of survey results from the College and Institute Student Outcomes Surveys, representing JIBC program graduates from certificate and diploma programs in 2012/13. Also included in this report is a five-year summary based on survey results from the 2010-2014 Outcomes surveys, representing JIBC certificate and diploma students that graduated between 2008/09 to 2012/13.
