Casual Fire Technician, Fire and Safety Division, Maple Ridge Campus

The Casual Fire Technician position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and operational support of course delivery.    This position is physically demanding with the daily requirement of lifting, pulling, pushing, walking, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy equipment. The Fire Technician will support Live Fire training on a regular basis.

Program Director, Office of Indigenization

In support of the JIBC’s mission and vision, Strategic and Education Plans, the primary purpose of this position is to direct, manage, and undertake activities to advance Indigenization and Aboriginal education/services at the Institute in collaboration and coordination with Schools and Offices. As a pan-institute service unit, this position also oversees curriculum development activities that are undertaken with program faculty and staff to enhance Indigenization of curriculum; facilitates institutional approaches to strengthen responsiveness to Aboriginal learners, communities, and organizations; and coordinates and manages special events.

Sessional Instructor, Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Program, Victoria Campus

The Health Sciences Division at the Justice Institute of British Columbia invites applications for the position of Sessional Instructor within the Primary Care Paramedic program. The Sessional PCP Instructor is part of a dynamic faculty team committed to delivering high quality instruction. Successful applicants will be used on an “on-call, as needed” basis to instruct PCP course offerings at Victoria Campus.

Assistant, Events & Campaigns, Office of Development (full-time term to March 29, 2019)

Reporting to the Director, Office of Development (OD), the Assistant – Events and Campaigns is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a range of fundraising activities and events for JIBC’s 40th Anniversary that are designed to increase donor and stakeholder engagement and revenue to support JIBC priorities. This term position focuses on events, in particular the Be the One Gala, and fundraising activities such as the JIBC Future 40 Campaign, to cultivate, acquire, renew and steward donors.

Records Governance and FIPPA Specialist, Office of Vice-President, Finance & Operations

The Records Governance and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) Specialist reports directly to and provides administrative support to the Vice-President Finance and Operations.  The incumbent is responsible for performing day-to-day administrative tasks to support the activities associated with the Vice-President Finance and Operations (VPF&O).

 The incumbent is primarily engaged in and responsible for interpreting legislation to protect privacy and personal information.  In accordance with legislation, she or he also ensures strict information security, maintains and manages corporate records, the related records-management systems and provides access to information in accordance with appropriate legislation and JIBC policies.

Senior Human Resources Consultant

The Senior Human Resources Consultant provides general human resources advice and support with a focus on labour relations, employee relations and job evaluation. The Senior Human Resources Consultant also assists with policy development, the administration of human resource policies and related labour legislation, and employment equity and diversity.

Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Emergency Management

The Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Emergency Management works at both the strategic and the operational level. The incumbent formulates and implements strategies which will enable JIBC to operationalize effective and integrated health, safety and emergency management programs. In addition, the Senior Manager ensures that the necessary policies, procedures and protocols are in place to effectively support these programs. The incumbent is also responsible for developing organizational capacity and implementing initiatives which help to foster an organizational culture that embraces health and safety and emergency preparedness across the organization.
