Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building
Opened in 2008, the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building at the JIBC New Westminster campus houses state of the art technology to deliver immersive, interactive scenario-based training exercises anytime, anywhere.
JIBC has worked with various government agencies and private industry to produce scenarios of catastrophic events and critical incidents to be used in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building. Scenarios were developed to:
- improve process;
- prevent a reoccurrence of events;
- plan a response; and
- provide training.
Developed by JIBC, Praxis is the web-based virtual simulation learning tool in the Dr. Donald B. Rix Public Safety Simulation Building. Praxis provides experiential learning through the delivery of scenario or problem based decision-making simulations, allowing learners to explore and learn in an immersive, exciting way.
