JIBC and EmerGeo cooperate to deliver Emergency Management education and technology solutions to organizations world-wide

Agreement highlights growing integration of technology into emergency management best practices

JIBC and EmerGeo Solutions (EmerGeo) have signed a memorandum of understanding to offer a complete package of emergency management education, training and technology services to communities, government agencies and organizations across Canada and internationally.

“From GIS mapping and social media to information management systems, technology is becoming a key part of every organization’s emergency management program — and integral to helping keep employees and communities safe,” comments Murray Day, Director of the JIBC Emergency Management Division. “At the JIBC, we are continually integrating technology into our applied training and academic programs, and are now pleased to offer a complete training and technology package to our government and private sector clients.”

The JIBC, through its Emergency Management Division (EMD), offers comprehensive emergency management academic programs and applied training to students and clients across Canada and internationally. Through this agreement, the JIBC will now be able to recommend world-class technology solutions in addition to emergency management training.

EmerGeo provides emergency management technology and services to clients world-wide. Their solutions include crisis information management systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping solutions and portable Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) options.

“Technology and training go hand in hand,” explains EmerGeo CEO Michael Morrow. “Now, we can offer our clients world-class technology solutions to better gather information, analyze results and manage their programs, along with the necessary training on theory, application and procedures from Canada’s leading emergency management educator.”
