Context / Purpose: 

The fair dealing provision in the Copyright Act is inclusive of JIBC as a nonprofit educational institution. JIBC establishes a Fair Dealing Policy to claim the full benefit of fair dealing.

Policy Statement: 

JIBC complies with the Copyright Act and observes the fair dealing provisions of the Act. To ensure that it observes the Copyright Act, JIBC adopts the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) “Fair Dealing Policy” and its guidelines (located in the Copyright section of the JIBC Library website: www.jibc.ca/library).
