The off-road course is designed for employees who use 4x4 vehicles in the workplace. Participants are taught safe driving skills and techniques in various types of terrain they may encounter on the job. Basic vehicle recovery techniques (how to get ‘un-stuck’) is demonstrated and practiced. Advanced vehicle recovery and safe winching techniques available upon request. The course is conducted at the JIBC Driver Education Centre at Pitt Meadows Airport and JIBC Off-Road Driving Centre in Maple Ridge. It is recommended that company vehicles are used.

Who Should Take This Course

Workers who are required to drive off-road and operate 4x4 vehicles 

Format

This course begins with a one hour classroom session that provides students with a re-introduction to off-road driving and review of best practices for the operation of 4x4 fleet vehicles.

The initial practical portion will take place at JIBC Driver Education Centre in Pitt Meadows. After lunch students will travel to JIBC Off-Road Driving Center in Maple Ridge.  Students will have an opportunity to practice advance off-road driving skills and self-recovery techniques.

Cost

One full-day

  • $2,550- flat rate applies for up to 6 students
  • $425/each additional student  maximum 12 students
  •  JIBC Vehicle Rental: $250/vehicle/2 students

Course Requirements

  • Participants must present a valid BC Drivers License 
  • Experience driving off-road and operating a 4x4 vehicle is recommended
